Mobile Bike Repair and Sales Franchise Coming to Orange County
New Bicycle Sales and Repair Franchise coming to Orange County
Orange County CA Beeline Bikes recently announced nationwide franchise expansion plans and is targeting Southern California as an initial market. Orange County is an ideal place for their new business concept. Cycling has become increasing popular in the OC where it is seen as a way to fight the childhood obesity crisis. But most families have working parents do not have the spare time or do not have a large vehicle that can transport bikes to a traditional bike shop. That's where this new service fits into the lifestyles of Orange County Families.
The Beeline mobile model repair van merges technology with expert service to deliver the ultimate in customer convenience. Customers love the convenience of the bike shop coming to them at the time and location of their choice. Beeline's use of technology allows customers to make appointments with an app. This let's them know what's available, and when the van is scheduled to arrive at their home. A trained mechanic, whom the company has vetted and preformed a criminal background check on, arrives with everything he/she needs to get the bikes rolling. The van is a full retail bike shop on wheels, including a full complement of accessories. Customers can also purchase new bikes and have them custom adjusted to fit.
The idea for the service grew out of a consumer need which no company was addressing. Peter Buhl started Beeline after finding it extremely difficult to get his bike serviced at a traditional bike shop - one shop only serviced bikes they sold, another refused to work on his bike brand, and 2 other shops had waits of 2 to 3 weeks for service. Mr. Buhl developed an innovative business model and joined forces with Andy Jeffrey, Co-Founder and CTO, and Neil Macc, a 15 year cycling industry veteran, with incredible bicycle knowledge, and experience as a mechanic, service manager and buyer in the industry.
Two years after its founding, Beeline has quickly grown to a fleet of six mobile bike shops supporting thousands of customers at their homes and 100+ corporate locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Beeline is expanding with a franchise model. They sell franchises to qualified individuals. According to spokesperson Peter Small, the total cost of a franchise cost is between $78K and $130K and the initial requirement is $20K to $25K liquid capital. He went on to say that some financing options are available. Beyond that, mechanic experience is favorable for someone who intends to be an owner/operator, but we are also working with investors who plan on partnering with a mechanic. Beeline's model was created by mechanics for mechanics and includes the technology, support structure and comprehensive supply chain to enable mechanics to build an ongoing relationship with each customer.
Beeline Bikes, based in San Carlos, CA, is leading the #1 trend in the bicycle industry - the Mobile Bike Shop. By enabling customers to schedule a visit at the time and location of their choosing, Beeline is reinventing how people interact with bike shops by providing the ultimate in customer convenience.
